Music Production Culture
The Origin of Electronic Music production began with the synthesizer in 1960, unfortunately it was pretty expensive and unlikely for the average person to own one at the time.
The computer was already invented between 1940-1945 but, it was too large to fit inside an average home as well and it was also very expensive.
The PC came out around the 70's which revolutionized the technology world.
The first usable electronic music production software was introduced around the late 80's and early 90's along with the first MPC. This wave of new software made it so you could produce music and record beats and songs in your home without having to use live instruments.
Next came the Midi Keyboard (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) this made producing music much easier enabaling a way to record notes from the keyboard to your track.

Comunication in the workplace
Most producers in the industry communicate via email, they will send a beat to an artist or another producer in an email, once the artist recieves the beat they will download it and record they're verse on the beat, once completed they email it back to the producer. A great amount of communication is conducted on social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook, also there are sites like Sound Cloud and Band Camp where artists can preview as well as download and comment on the producers beat.
Last but not least producers and artist's will communicate via phone calls or text.

Some of My Favorite Producers
Statik Selektah : An east coast pioneer DJ and producer from boston, his underground style is unique and he specializes in scratching and mixing. Statik is one the busiest producers in the game. He has an old school style with a new school twist.
Statik works with a number of emcees most notably a Puerto Rican rapper who goes by the name of Termanology. Together the duo are known as 1982, they put an album out this year called 1982 to 2012.

Kanye West : A controversial Chicago native and one of the greatest hip hop/ rap producers of our time. Yeezy has revolutionized the hip hop production game by raising the bar and prooving without a doubt he's here to stay. He's worked with a number of artists like Common, Jay Z, Nas, Mary J Blige, Rick Ross, Big Sean and many more.
Kanye also is a rap super star himself, but he is well known as a producer and a writer.
Kanye's most recent project was a joint album with rap legend Jay-Z called "Watch The Throne" released in August 2011. The album sold over a million coppies (aka) Platinum.

Dr. dre : The greatest producer of all time period.
dre has been in the game forever, since the mid 80's. He has been nominated for more than 20 grammy awards and has won 6 thus far. He's worked with everybody in the industry from Eminem to 50 cent and Snoop dog to The Game. He started N.W.A one of and if not the most influential and pervocative groups of the late 80's.
dre has a knack for finding talent and turning broke ambitious rappers into multi selling platinum artists. He is currently or (supposably) working on his last studio album (Detox) and also working with an extremley talanted new lyricist named Kendrick Lamar who he signed to his label Aftermath. After dre has passed he will go down as a legend and the best who ever did it.
